Who We Are at Grosse Pointe South Baseball
Our Background
Grosse Pointe South has a rich tradition of providing one of the state’s best baseball experiences to our student athletes. Our goal is to provide our 3 teams (Varsity, JV-A, and JV-B) with experienced and knowledgeable coaching staffs, top notch facilities, challenging schedules, and opportunities to succeed both on the field and in the classroom.

Since 1984, GPS can boast over 75 former players who’ve gone on to play in the college ranks and 4 former players who’ve signed with MLB organizations. Since 1984, GPS can boast over 75 former players who’ve gone on to play in the college ranks and 4 former players who’ve signed with MLB organizations. However, regardless of how much talent may depart our roster any given summer, the goals for the following season will remain the same! The South program will continue to nurture the talent in our community, starting at the early levels of Little League, and produce a competitive roster each spring.

The South program has produced 26 District titles, 10 Regional titles, 8 Final Four births (a public school record), 3 State Finals appearances and 2 State Championships in Division One, since 1986.
